A carousel of short practical demonstrations and activities to provide pupils with an insight into the diversity of roles within energy and engineering.
This half-day session formed part of Alford Academy's series of sector awareness days.
The event, which took place in school, allowed pupils to develop an understanding of the different types of jobs available within energy and engineering.
By moving round different activities, pupils were able to meet a variety of industry professionals and participate in hands-on activities.
The format of the session - with pupils participating in smaller groups - enabled good quality interaction and learning.
As well as gaining knowledge of different job roles, pupils learned about the engineering science that underpins renewable and clean energy.
The VR headset showcased by Safer Training allowed pupils to use industry-standard training equipment in a simulated offshore rescue situation.
Pupils were able to test and develop their existing skills, while gaining an insight into the training required to work in the marine industry.
