This in-person visit to Aberdeen Health Village was designed to provide pupils on the Health Sector, Skills for Learning course with a real-life insight into the variety of career opportunities within the health sector.
This in-person visit to Aberdeen Health Village allowed pupils from Northfield Academy to contextualise the classroom learning from their Health Sector, Skills for Learning course.
Throughout their time, they had the chance to visit various departments and speak with healthcare professionals working across a variety of roles.
Pupils heard from staff members who were working across a number of different areas including dietitians, radiologists and community nurses and ask any questions around their role and qualifications.
The young people were also able to experience the NHS working environment and gain an insight into the varying demands and rewards of being a healthcare professional.
"The visit was extremely informative and a helpful insight into the many opportunities with the health sector. We are very thankful that we got to have this chance to visit the Health Village and for all the people we got the opportunity to hear and learn from."
