Overview

The careers fair, a first at Northfield Academy in several years, was held during the day.

The event was attended by S3 and S4 pupils. The young people visited the careers fair in small, timetabled groups to maximise opportunities for interactions.

Results and effectiveness

The small groupings, coupled with dedicated time slots, meant that both the pupils and the employers had plenty of space and time to have meaningful discussions.

All of the organisations who were represented engaged very well with the young people, encouraging them into conversations around their industry and associated opportunities to gain training and qualifications.

Additional benefits

Bringing employers together in a central space meant that pupils were able to learn about multiple careers and industry sectors that they may not have had much prior knowledge of.

"Thank you, the day was a great success and exactly what the school needed."
