A series of school visits from Morrison Construction provided senior pupils with an insight into the sector, the pathways into construction careers and opportunities for progression.
A small team from Morrison Construction visited various schools throughout the region during November and December as part of their annual construction careers roadshow.
Company representatives shared some background about the sector. They also provided information about their own business and the types of opportunities Morrison Construction can offer young people.
Pupils who attended the sessions had been identified as having a genuine interest in a career in construction. The presentations gave them an insight into the different roles and day-to-day workings within Morrison Construction. There were opportunities for pupils to ask questions and to share their own potential areas of interest.
Pupils learned about the entry-level opportunities that Morrison Construction will be offering in 2024.
Those who were interested were invited to apply for a work experience placement, so that they could gain a taster of what being an apprentice at Morrison Construction is like.

Small group discussions with industry experts helped to prepare S6 pupils for their next steps.
A series of hospitality-themed activities encouraged S2 pupils from St Machar Academy to consider careers in the industry.
