Bridge of Don Academy pupils participated in a day of civil engineering-related construction tasks with the team from W M Donald.
W M Donald staff spent the day with S2-3 pupils from Bridge of Don Academy, giving them the opportunity to develop work-related skills via a series of civil engineering-themed tasks.
The pupils worked through several different tasks, such as bridge building, mono blocking and site set-up. As well as providing them with practical insights, the activities encouraged skills development across areas such as problem solving, communication, relationship building and time management.
School staff took notes on the pupils' performance, which will allow for reflection, follow-up and further development. Team members from W M Donald reported strong levels of engagement with the activities.
Small group discussions with industry experts helped to prepare S6 pupils for their next steps.
A series of hospitality-themed activities encouraged S2 pupils from St Machar Academy to consider careers in the industry.
